Indian Springs Ranch Golf Course is set at the foot of the western edge of the Rockies in northwest Montana. Natural design was a priority. Our goal was to fit the golf course into the natural movement of the property and to mirror some of that movement into the contours of the green surfaces and fairway mounds. We feel that a golf course shouldn’t detract from the natural appearance of the surrounding countryside of rolling grasslands. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that ours doesn’t. The result is limited greenscape nestled into the brown prairie grasses. The portion of the course between the tees and the landing areas are natural grasses. This makes for a unique visual appearance.
We have created a challenging links style course for residents and the general public to test their skills. The course winds its way through the prairie grass on the flats, into the rolling hills and bench lands, across the creek, down to the southern flats and back to the clubhouse.
The result is a golfing environment that is an afordable public facility with a fun atmosphere while providing a challenging experience for golfers of various skill levels. This links style golf course blends nicely into the natural landscape. Keeping it on the fairway is a must to score well. Our focus is on the simplicity of enjoying the game of golf on and off the course.
Most players will have to dirty several or almost all of the clubs in their bag to play the course efectively. There are four sets of tees to create a fair challenge for a variety of players – young and old, male and female, as well as low and high handicaps. The premium is on hitting the distance that allows you to play from the wider sections of each hole. The front tees allow even the shortest hitters to keep it in the fairways and have a great golfng experience.
- The blue tees are between 120 and 180 yards to the fairway.
- The white tees are about 80 to 120 yards from the fairway.
- The red tees are an average of 50 to 80 yards to the short grass.
- The yellow tees are 25 to 50 yards from the fairway.
The practice range is one of the most comprehensive in the area. It will give everyone the opportunity to learn the game and improve skills.
